Hey this is Gabby and this is my first time blogging. I’m Jeremys amazing intern (his words) and he lets me be creative and basically gives me an assignment and I get to design the pages. It’s actually pretty cool and one of my most recent web pages is this Vidalia Onion Brochure. The client wanted us to add on to their website and put a new category under their recipe section. Jeremy gave the task to me and I was off.
The first thing I did was design the document in Photoshop, which I already knew how to work in Photoshop so it wasn’t that hard for me to come up with the layout. The way the process usually works is I show Jeremy my ideas and if he approves of them then I get to put them in Dreamweaver. Now Dreamweaver is something that I am just starting to learn. My first time using it was around a month ago and I’ve been catching on pretty quickly. I know all of the basics but Jeremy has to explain how to put the pages into Dreamweaver because every time I use Dreamweaver I’m doing something different. He will tell me things like how to make all of my pictures links or how to make their up and down “states” a different color. I also just started using CSS, and XHTML. It was pretty tricky at first but I think I am catching on to how it all works now.
Once Jeremy tells me all that I need to know I just replicate what he’s done and the pages just start coming together. The most exciting part is putting the pages up on the server and then going to the site and actually seeing your work on the web. I think I’m most proud of my Vidalia Onions Brochure Recipes site out of all of the work that I’ve done so far.
Here’s a link to see what I did. http://www.vidaliaonion.org/vidalia-onion-brochure-recipes.php
Looking forward to more future blogs, and learning more fun Interactive stuff!
