Toy A Day

A friend of the shop / ex-harvester, Mr. Kenny Roy sent me a link to this site a while back. It features the work of Joe… Not sure on the last name, but I did try to find it. Interesting to see what people do with their spare time. I honestly can say I am kinda jealous of the creative thought it must have taken to start doing a toy a day. I used to create little characters similar to this when I lived in Japan in elementary school. Very cool to see someone thinking of a creative way to make something from paper and pen. Great stuff Joe!

Jeremy A. Carrus - Principal / “Cultivator of Seeds” WHOISCARRUS. Jeremy, a print design major in college, got his start in the advertising business in 1999 when he produced a TV commercial for Replay's, a local CD exchange shop in Memphis, TN. He produced the TV commercial with a fellow classmate, through the use of Macromedia Flash 4, while attending State Tech Community College in Memphis, TN. From this experience Jeremy realized his love for creating things digitally, and began teaching himself Macromedia Dreamweaver, and Director. Along with creating a television commercial he began working for one of the largest advertising agency's in the mid south. It was at Archer Malmo Advertising where he worked along side their internal Web team crafting his skills prior to graduating college. After finishing college he moved to Orlando, FL in February of 2000. He began working for CGS Advertising Group, Inc. It was here, after working for the company for three months, Jeremy was promoted to Director of Multimedia and oversaw all interactive projects including work for the Web, CDRoms, Television, and Interactive Kiosks. After working for CGS for three fun years Jeremy decided to step out on his own to follow his dream of starting his own interactive design agency on February 16, 2004. After five years of running his company, he has grown from a 1 man band working out of his apartment into a full time team with his business partner and friend Kevin Terry. WHOISCARRUS has been very fortunate to be able to produce interactive work for some of the worlds largest known brands including; Disney, McDonalds, Pepsico, Nature's Table Café, Rippe Lifestyle Institute, along with it's very first client Florida Architects Inc. When Jeremy isn't thinking about design or interactive ideas for clients he can be found doing numerous creative hobbies that keep his mind busy. Some of those hobbies include; digital generative artwork, playing guitar, writing for magazines, collecting designer toys, adding more tattoos to his body, listening to his ipod/iphone, teaching interactive design at the local community college, participating in AIGA & OAF events, Judging the ADDY awards for local florida districts, or just driving with the windows down in his car. He's a self-starter and a tenacious motivator to his colleagues, his motto is to always, “Keep Pushing!” It's hard to believe, but he actually does find time to sleep and hang out with his family and girl friend.
